Decor – The Botanical
the good hotel review

A lovely Easter Monday sees us heading to the Botanical Gardens for a walk, but before that breakfast at The Botanical.

The Botanical Breakfast seems the go with everything an English breakfast should have, except hash browns, and maybe mushrooms. Still, I enjoyed the black pudding studded with bits of kidney for extra offal points! The smoky bacon was good too, if a little on the salty side. I would have prefered a nice pork and sage sausage in place of the cheese kransky, which again was on the salty side. Just as well there was some braised cannellini beans in tomato to unclog the arteries.

A good breakfast, but disappointing coffee.

- Botanical, South Yarra – thebreakfastblog.blogspot.com, Sunday, April 10, 2005 – Eggs Benedict: the eggs were very good, the hollandaise excellent, and the muffins properly toasted
- Back to the Bot – thebreakfastblog.blogspot.com, Monday, January 02, 2006 – Botanical Breakfast black pudding … the highlight + Salmon Benedict hollandaise was neatly flecked with just the right amount of salmon roe and a hint of chives
